So you have dry skin? You may need a good lotion to help your skin stay moisturized. But did you know that the health of your skin can affect how long your manicure lasts?

Here are some tips to get a manicure to last longer:

1. Use an exfoliating scrub and moisturizing lotion often.

2. Be sure to put on a lotion with SPF when outdoors for long periods of time.

3. Keep your nails short by trimming them regularly (every two weeks).

A manicure is a great way to pamper yourself and show off your nails. But with summer in full swing, you may be wondering how to get your manicure to last longer than a few days. Well, I’ve got 3 tips that will help you make your manicure last as long as possible!

1. MOISTURIZE BEFOREHAND

A few days before you get your manicure, make sure to moisturize your hands and nails in order to give them some extra love. This will also ensure that they aren’t too dry when you apply the polish.????

2. SKIP THE CUTICLE OIL

I know, I know; it’s tempting to apply cuticle oil during the manicure process, but it isn’t a good idea when you want the polish to adhere better and last longer. The cuticle oil can act as a barrier between your nail and the polish. ????

3. CHOOSE THE RIGHT POLISH

I usually choose a base coat and top coat alongside my color of choice in order to get my manicure to last longer. I even sometimes add an extra layer of top coat after my nails are completely dried! The extra layer of

Dry, cracked skin can make it hard for your manicure to last. We’ve all been in that situation where we get a manicure and the next thing you know, the color is chipping off or worse yet, the whole tip of your nail breaks off.

So what exactly can you do to help your manicure last longer? Here are a few things you can do:

Pamper your nails. Your nail technician will file and shape your nails but you can take it a step further by applying cuticle oil to your cuticles at night. You should also use a good hand lotion that contains urea to help hydrate dry hands. Using these methods will help soften your cuticles so they are easier to push back.

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Not only do you want to use a good hand lotion on your hands but also consider using a cuticle oil daily and even while doing other activities such as watching TV or reading. Cuticle oil is great because it penetrates deeper into the skin than any other lotion could and it helps prevent cuticle hangnails from forming which can destroy even the most flawless manicure.

Use breathable polish. There are lots of great breathable

If you have dry skin, you may have noticed that manicures don’t last as long as those with oily skin. The problem is that oils help seal in color. Also, dry hands can chip and peel nail polish making it look sloppy.

The longer your nails take to grow, the more likely they are to break or peel between manicures. However, you can still get a salon-quality manicure from home by following these tips.

1) Don’t Forget Your Cuticles

To prevent peeling and chipping, start by soaking your hands in warm water for 10 minutes before applying nail polish. After patting them dry, gently push back the cuticles with a cuticle stick. Trim away any loose pieces with a cuticle nipper or nail clippers and finish off by rubbing cuticle oil into the skin around your nails.

2) Use a Base Coat

Apply a basecoat before applying any nail polish to prevent the polish from staining your nails, which can make them look yellow or dingy. It also creates a smooth surface for the polish to adhere to so it lasts longer without chipping or peeling. You can also apply the basecoat over existing nail polish to “seal” it

A manicure is a beauty treatment that shapes and polishes the nails.

But, you are a lady with dry skin, which makes keeping your nails looking nice a challenge. Even if you do get your nails done at a salon, they won’t last as long as they should because of dry skin. Here’s why: The nail plate is porous, so whatever moisture is in the air will be absorbed by nails. But if you have dry skin, your nails will absorb what little moisture there is in the air and stick to each other or peel off entirely.

Here are some simple steps to prolonging your manicure:

Everyone wants to get their manicure done and be able to have it last without having to constantly retouch or redo it. There are some simple tips and tricks that will help your manicure last longer.

Use moisturizer

Moisturize regularly. Once you take a shower, apply moisturizer to your hands, elbows and feet. If you have extra dry skin consider applying a thick layer of moisturizer before bedtime and put on gloves or socks to help lock in the moisture. Do this once a day for two weeks prior to getting a manicure. This will soften up your skin so that when you get the manicure, your cuticles will be easier to work with and your nails will be smoother. This can also be a great time-saver at the salon as well because less time will be needed for filing down rough spots on your nails.

Avoid soaking nails

Do not soak your nails before going for the manicure. Many salons will offer you this service but you should decline it if you want your manicure to last long. Soaking softens the nail plate and makes it more porous, causing polish to adhere better but also causing chips later on when they dry out again.

Let it breathe!

Give your nails a

So you finally have found the time to book a manicure. You’ve got your appointment all set, and you are ready to relax, enjoy the massage, and let your stress float away on that nail salon chair. Our nails, like our skin, go through a lot every day. They take the brunt of typing at our keyboards all day, they get caught on our clothing, they hit things we shouldn’t be hitting them against (we’re looking at you car door).
