With the coming of fall, we all want something to complement the beautiful colors of nature. As a manicurist I love to do nails that go with the seasons. Most people think of dark colors and black nail polish when they think of fall nail art. While this is true, there are many other colors you can use.

What color nail polish should you use for fall?

The colors I have outlined below will help you get the perfect manicure for fall. You should take into consideration your wardrobe and most importantly, your skin tone.

Dark colors: browns and reds

These colors will compliment a large number of wardrobes. They are also very popular during the fall season because they match the colors of fallen leaves. Dark colors such as these also look great on all skin tones and work well as a base for an intricate design or glittery topcoat.

Light colors: beiges and whites

In contrast to dark colors for fall, light colors can also be used to express yourself with a manicure that compliments your wardrobe. These colors tend to look great on people with lighter skin tones, especially those who have pink undertones in their skin. Light colors go well with intricate designs and make them stand out more than they would on dark

A great manicure starts with a perfect base. You want to make sure that your nails are clean, dry and that you have applied a good base coat to protect your nails from the polish.

Next, pick a color. When choosing a color for fall, it is best to stick with darker colors such as dark blue, deep purple and of course the classic red nail. Another trend that is popular this fall are metallics such as gold, silver and copper.

Once you have chosen your color, apply two coats of the polish evenly letting each coat dry before applying the next layer. If you are using a metallic or glitter type polish, apply the second coat sparingly so that you can still see some of the base color.

When you have reached the desired look with your polish use an eyeliner brush dipped in nail polish remover to clean up any mistakes around your cuticles and sides of your nails. Once all excess has been cleaned up apply a clear topcoat to seal in your manicure.

Now if you are feeling extra creative and would like to add some accents to your nails there are many things you can do such as using different colors on each hand or using nail stickers or rhinestones for a little sparkle!

With the start of fall comes a change in weather, but also nail art trends. The colors and hues that were so popular during the summer months will make way for darker, richer colors. There are many ways to achieve a perfect fall manicure, so let’s take a look at some of the best nail art ideas for this season.

Rich Colors

Dark colors such as blue, green and purple are hot colors for this fall. They can be worn alone or as an accent color to add some drama to your nails. For example, you could apply a dark purple nail polish and then paint an accent nail with gold glitter nail polish to give it more interest.

As the weather gets cooler and the leaves start to change, it’s time to think about switching up your manicure. With so many great fall colors and trends, we’re welcoming the new season with open arms!

As with any manicure, you want to start with a clean canvas. First, trim your nails down to your desired length and file them (we like our nails to be short and square) with a glass nail file (they last forever!). Once you’ve shaped your nails, soak them in warm water for five minutes to soften up your cuticles. Then apply cuticle remover around each nail, let it sit for a few moments, then gently push back your cuticles.

Once you’ve created a blank canvas for your polish, you want to make sure it lasts as long as possible. A good base coat helps your mani-pedi stay chip-free for longer and protects against discoloration; we love Essie’s Grow Stronger Base Coat. Next comes the fun part: applying color! If you’re using multiple colors, make sure to always apply the lightest color first. We especially love nudes during fall; they go with everything and always look chic. For our nude basecoat, we used Essie’s Sand

It’s that time of year again: fall is just around the corner, and it’s time for a change in your manicure of choice. Whether you opt for the classic orange and red tones or go for something a little more adventurous, like deep green or dark purple, there are some basic rules to keep in mind as you prepare for the transition from summer to fall nails.

And if you do go with a bold color this season, don’t be afraid to play around with fun patterns and glitter! The key is to make sure that everything blends together nicely. For example, if you choose a bright red nail polish, add some sparkle with a glitter top coat.

Don’t forget to hydrate your hands and exfoliate before you apply nail polish. This will help your polish last longer on your nails by keeping them smooth and moisturized.

When it comes to fall, there’s one thing that we always look forward to: manis. After all, this is the season where manicures trump pedicures (sorry toes), and we can’t wait to try out all of the gorgeous new trends we’ve been seeing on our Instagram feeds.

The best part is, fall nail art is all about creativity. You can play with color, texture, and design, without any rules and without looking out of place. Here are some of the top fall nail art ideas for 2017!

Dark Red

A dark red mani is a classic fall look. It’s super versatile and will work with just about anything you wear. And the color itself suggests fall leaves and cozy fires. This is a great option if you’re looking for something both low-key and seasonal.

Studded

If you’re looking for a little extra flair this season, studs are a great way to do it. Whether you go with silver or gold studs (or both!), you’ll be sure to get lots of compliments on your look. Just make sure that you apply them correctly so that they don’t fall off your nails before the party even starts!

Fall nail art can be as creative as you want it to be. You can use all the colors of the season and make your nails look very interesting. The best thing about fall is that you do not have to be too careful about the design you are choosing for your nails. If you want something that looks good all year round, then a simple design will be just fine.

You can play with different patterns and even create some abstract designs on your nails. You can create a butterfly or a leaf pattern and add some glitter to make it look even more unique. If you want something that is more sophisticated and elegant, then you can go for a french manicure with some pearls or diamonds on top of it.

If you like something that is more practical, then go for a simple manicure with a floral motif or an animal print on top of it. This will look great on any skin tone, so choose the color that suits you best.

When choosing the color for your nails, try to avoid too many bright colors because they will make your hands look boring and dull. Instead, stick to neutral tones such as black, brown, white and gray. These colors are neutral enough to blend in with any outfit and they also work well with almost any kind
