We Can’t Get Enough of This Color-Accurate Manicure: A blog about the recent popularity of russian manicures.

If you’re like us, you’ve probably noticed a certain style of nail art popping up on Instagram and Pinterest lately that makes your manicure look like a work of art. It’s called a color accurate mani, and we can’t get enough of it. The trend has been around for over a year, but it’s still going strong. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re in for a treat.

It all started with the russian manicure, which uses the same technique but with different colors. This trend has been around for years, but only recently has it started to gain traction online.

The Russian mani is a technique that uses contrasting colors to create an abstract design on your nails. The idea is to use white as your base color and black as your tip color to create a graphic effect reminiscent of Russian nesting dolls or matryoshka dolls (hence the name).

The result is a cool-toned mani that looks like it was done by hand instead of machine, making it perfect for anyone who wants their nails done quickly and easily!

Manicurist Tracylee is known for her nail art. She has created everything from pointillism to tiny designs painted on the underside of nails. But one of her recent looks, a manicure with a gradient effect, has been blowing up on social media and we can see why. The nail art is simple, yet striking and unique. Plus, it requires little effort — what more could you ask for?

The technique, called the “russian manicure” (russian manicure near me), involves using different colors on each nail and using a makeup sponge to blend them together at the tip. It looks super intricate but is actually very easy to create.

Tracylee used three different colors of polish by Essie (russian manicure near me) and two colors of loose glitter to create this look. She started by adding a base coat and then applied two coats of polish in a light color (she used ‘Don’t Sweater It’). Next, she added a second color (she used ‘Pretty Edgy’) at the very end of each nail with a makeup sponge.

Recently, I’ve noticed a trend with my clients requesting a more natural nail look. The “Russian Manicure” is really taking off right now in my area.

Here’s what the manicure entails:

The nail tech will shape the nails to your preference, whether that be square, almond or round and then file them down so they are not too long.

They will then use their regular base coat on the nails followed by a clear nail polish.

The special part of this manicure comes at the end when the color-accurate gel polish is applied (there is no curing involved). This polish does not require a top coat and can last for up to 3 weeks!

The Russian manicure has arrived in a big way. Thanks to social media, the latest nail art trend to come out of the country is suddenly everywhere.

The latest manicure trend to take over the beauty world is unlike any nail art we’ve ever seen. The Russian manicure, which is actually a French manicure gone rogue, has become a go-to for those who want to add a little bit of edge to their typically classic look.

The manicure, which is also referred to as the seam nail because it mimics the look of stitching on a leather jacket, will look familiar to anyone who has been French manicures. However, with this technique, you take your traditional white tips and kick them up a notch by adding some color in between the white tip and your natural nail bed.

It stays true to the original mani by keeping the bottom half of your nails completely bare (it’s all about that contrast!). But instead of going with a solid color or simply leaving it nude, you are able to liven it up with an extra pop of color. It’s like having an accent wall in your home — it gives you just enough of an edge while keeping things classy.

It’s also one of those looks that works on everyone and every occasion. Because you can customize the colors and patterns, this trend is incredibly versatile. We love that it can be

If you don’t know about Russian manicures, it’s time to get your life. The technique uses a fine-grit file to remove the top layers of nails and create soft, rounded edges. It’s basically like sanding down wood—you go over each nail layer by layer until you reach the desired shape.

My first Russian manicure was done at Vanity Projects in New York City, and while pricey, it’s worth every penny. The process takes anywhere from 25 minutes to an hour depending on how long you want to let the technician work her magic. But I will say this: If you’re not used to having your nails buffed down or have them for long periods of time, it can be excruciatingly painful. I have weak nails that grow quickly and are prone to breaking, so it’s a bit difficult for me to sit still for more than five minutes as is. This made the process hell on Earth for me. However, after the manicure was completed, my nails felt stronger and looked better without any polish on them—which is rare for me.

A gel manicure is a great way to keep your nails looking flawless for up to two weeks (or more!). But there’s one major drawback — you can never see the true color of your polish because of the UV light.

Well, we might have found a solution! The GelBottle Inc., which is known for its long-lasting and highly pigmented polishes, is showing off a new technique that uses a color-correcting lamp to give you the most accurate shade possible.

Here’s how it works: After applying your base coat, you paint on two coats of any GelBottle Inc. shade (we love Hot Rod). Then you cure it under the special lamp for 30 seconds. From there, you apply your top coat and cure again for 20 seconds. Voilà, you’ve got yourself a gel manicure that shows off your polish’s real color!
