If you love the look of a french manicure but hate to spend the money to get one, why not try it at home? Here are 5 tips for putting on your own french manicures.

1. Tip 1: Clean up time. Before you put any polish on your nails, you should make sure they are clean and dry. Use nail polish remover and a cotton ball to remove any old nail polish that may be left on your fingers, and then use a nail brush and some warm soapy water to remove any dirt that may have gotten underneath your nails. Rinse them well, dry them off with a towel, and then use a paper towel to buff them lightly until they are completely dry.

2. Tip 2: Cuticle care. Use an orange stick or cuticle pusher to gently push back your cuticles before you paint them. (Do not cut them, because this can lead to infection.) You should also use a cuticle cream or oil around this time to keep your cuticles healthy and moisturized.

3. Tip 3: The base coat. To create the illusion of longer nails, apply white polish along the tips of your nails using a french manicure pen or striping brush dipped in white nail polish

If you’re interested in giving yourself a French manicure, you may have noticed that the process isn’t as easy as painting a solid color on your nails. There are several steps involved and there are tricks to doing it right. Here are 5 tips for putting on a great French manicure at home.

Prepare Your Nails: Before applying the base coat to your nails, you should remove any old nail polish and trim, buff and shape your nails. If you need help doing this, check out my post on how to give yourself a manicure at home.

Choose the Right Tools: There are many products available for giving yourself a French manicure at home. You can buy French manicure kits that come with everything you need or you can buy each product separately. I recommend buying everything separately because then you can decide which products work best for you.

Some kits come with white tip guides that are designed to be stuck on your nail before painting on the white tip color. These never seem to work very well, so I recommend avoiding them. It’s better to free-hand the white tips or use tip guides made of scotch tape, which is much easier to get straight than the paper tip guides in the kits.

Apply Base Coat: Apply

Putting on a French manicure at home is one of the most difficult things you have to do. If you don’t have a steady hand, or are not used to painting, you may mess up your nails. The best solution is to go to a nail salon and have someone else do it for you. But if you want to save some money, and do it yourself, here are some tips that may help.

1. Make sure your nails are clean before starting. If there is any polish left from the last time you painted them, remove it before applying the new color. Also clip and file your nails so they are even.

2. Start with a layer of white polish on each nail. You can use tape if you want the line to be straight, but this is not necessary for the french manicure look.

3. Wait for the white polish to dry before applying another layer of white along the edge of your nail. This will make it look like there is a white tip on your fingernail and will give it that “French” look when it’s done. The second layer of white should be thicker than the first and should extend out towards the end of your finger more than the first coat did. This will make

French manicures aren’t just for special occasions like weddings and prom. They can also be worn every day to work, school, or a night out with friends. Most people choose to go to the nail salon and spend around $35 on a professional french manicure, but they can be done at home just as easily. This guide will teach you how to do your own french manicure at home in 5 easy steps.

Step 1: Supplies

You will need some basic tools such as clippers, cuticle pusher, cotton balls, and emery board. You’ll also need polish remover and paper towels to clean up any mistakes (since nail polish doesn’t come off easily once it’s dry). In order to do a proper job of applying your new manicure kit properly then please ensure that all of these items are close by so that you can complete step 2 without having any problems.

Step 2: Prep Work

Before applying any polish, you need to make sure that your nails are clean and dry. Use an anti-bacterial soap like Dial or Safeguard for this step because it will help prevent infection from bacteria under the nails which could cause permanent damage over time if left untreated (and no one wants that!). You may want to

1) Make sure your nails are clean and dry. Clip, file and buff. Push back cuticles and apply a base coat of polish

2) Choose a color for the tip of your nail. It’s best to use something that is not too bright or dark, but instead use a light pink or white. Use about 3 coats of polish for the perfect tip color. Tip: Use an actual French manicure kit, it has all the right colors.

3) Wait until the tip color is dry then apply a thin line of polish on the tip (base coat will work fine)

4) Use tape to help make a straighter line. Apply the tape on either side of your nail, leaving only the tip exposed. Make sure you press down on the tape so its secure and then paint over the tip with your chosen color

5) Remove tape then use another coat of polish as topcoat for shine

1. Gather your french manicure supplies. You will need nail polish, a base coat, a topcoat or clear polish, a white polish and cotton balls.

2. Apply the base coat to each nail and let dry. This will help with the color of your nail polish.

3. Paint each nail with white polish except for the bottom third of the nail. Let Dry.

4. Paint each nail with your choice of color making sure that you only paint over the bottom third of the nail so that you have a french manicure look with the tip being white and bottom being whatever color you chose. Let Dry

5. Apply a top coat or clear polish over the entire fingernail to protect it from chipping or smudging. Let Dry

6. Remove excess polish off skin using a cotton-ball soaked in nail polish remover

Wash your hands and then trim, file, and buff your nails. You want to make sure they are clean and that they have a smooth surface before polishing them.

Next, apply a clear base coat of polish. If you have never done this before, it might help to practice first. A professional manicurist can show you the best way to apply the base coat so that it is even and not too thick.

Next you will apply the white tip on your nail. Some nail polish colors are better than others for this step. I like Essie Blanc for my French manicures because it has a bright white color that goes on smooth and doesn’t streak or separate like some other colors do. You will want to apply two coats of this, allowing the polish to dry between coats.

Next, apply your pink or light beige color from the cuticle down to the tip of your nail. Again, you will want to do two coats of this color, allowing each one to dry completely before moving on to the next step.

Finally, you will top off your nails with a clear top coat of polish which will make them shine!
