Though they may not be the most practical of nail designs, flowers are some of the prettiest. If you’re someone who enjoys a little colour and art on your nails, flower nail designs can be both fun and beautiful.

Here’s 7 simple flower nail art designs for beginners:

1. Choose a base colour for your nails, preferably something light like white or pink. Here, I’ve chosen to use a baby pink colour as my base.

2. Choose another pastel colour to paint a few strokes on each nail. Here, I’ve used light blue and purple.

3. Using a small dotting tool or toothpick, add white dots to your nails to represent pollen in the centre of your flowers.

4. Once your base coat is dry, you can use a thin brush to add more detail to the flowers. Here I’ve added some purple petals with a thin brush and purple polish for my pinky finger.

5. For the rest of the fingers, I’ve painted another layer onto the petals using light blue polish to create more detailed flowers for my pointer and middle finger nails. Don’t worry about being too neat with this step as all we want is dimension in our flowers!

6. With my ring finger nail

Once the first layer is dry, you can start drawing the flowers on your nails. Use a toothpick or bobby pin to dot on the orange polish for the center of the flower and yellow polish for the first outer layer.
