Butterfly Gel Nails: A blog about gel nails and new ways to care for them.

I have been doing my own gel nails for about 9 months now. My first set was done at a salon and it took 2.5 hours! I loved the results and didn’t want to spend that kind of money every 2 weeks so I bought my own kit and tried it myself. It wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be but with some practice, I got the hang of it. Now, I do my own gel nails in the comfort of my home.

It’s really important to take good care of your nails and prevent them from breaking or chipping even if you’re not wearing gel polish. Here are a few tips on how to keep them strong and healthy:

1) Keep your hands moisturized! When you rub lotion in your hands, rub the excess over your nails too!

2) Take biotin supplements daily (recommended dosage is 5000mcg/day)!

3) If you work around water or chemicals without gloves, try to protect your nails by applying cuticle oil several times a day. This will keep them flexible so they won’t break easily.

Butterfly Gel Nail Polishes are so-called because they are a hybrid between a normal nail polish and a gel. They are more durable than normal polishes, but don’t require curing in a UV lamp like gel nails do, so they come off just as easily as regular nail polishes when you want them to.
