I can only speak for myself when I say my love for nail polish began in elementary school with Sally Hansen Hard as Nails. My mom used to buy these little bottles of hardener and I would put them on every day (on top of my normal nail polish). By the end of the week my nails would be rock hard!

This is the perfect colour for summer – it reminds me of the ocean and makes me feel like I’m on a permanent vacation.

If you’re looking for something a little more subtle, this pink looks great with everything. It’s a nice change from the usual neutral colours we see during summer. The white-pink hue is also very popular in nail art.
3. Bright Blue
A bright blue can be a lot of fun and add some energy to your look. This colour is also one of Pantone’s colours of the year, so it will definitely be on trend!
4. Coral
Coral red is always a classic choice for summer and looks great with a tan!
5. Mint Green
This colour has been very popular recently and it will continue to be this season. It looks great with almost anything, but especially summer whites or pastels.

Nail polish was invented around 3000 BC in ancient China. The colors at that time were made from a blend of crushed insects and flowers. In some parts of Ancient Egypt, red color was used as a symbol of status rather than to enhance one’s beauty.
Today, nail polish has become an art form that is enjoyed by people all over the world. Nail artists everywhere have taken nails to a whole new level with intricate designs and 3D art. A recent trend has been color shift polishes that change colors depending on the angle you view them at.

We love nail polish. We love to put it on and we love to look at it. From crazy colours to classic shades, we’re big fans of it all. But, when we really think about it, there aren’t a whole lot of choices out there for our nails. Sure, there are different finishes (shimmer, cream, glitter) but the colour spectrum is very limited. Why is that?

However, red and black eventually replaced these metallic colors as royal favorites. During the Ming dynasty, nail polish was often made from a mixture that included beeswax, egg whites, gelatin, vegetable dyes, and gum arabic.[citation needed] In Egypt, the lower classes wore pale colors, whereas high society painted their nails a reddish brown color. It was also known that mummified pharaohs would have their nails painted by henna.
