How to Remove Gel Nail Polish

**Step 1**

Pour the acetone-based nail polish remover into a shallow bowl. If you don’t have a bowl, you can use an aluminum pie pan.

**Step 2**

Put a cotton ball into the acetone, enough to saturate it.

**Step 3**

Place your finger in the cotton ball and press it down. The goal is to keep as much of your nail as possible under the cotton ball and acetone. If you do not have enough cotton or acetone to cover your entire nail, use more than one cotton ball. You can use a small piece of tin foil wrapped around your finger to help keep the balls in place. Make sure that there’s no air between the nail and the cotton ball or foil. This will speed up and ensure proper removal of all layers of polish.

**Step 4**

Repeat this process with each fingernail. Let them sit for at least 10 minutes. Remove one finger from its cotton ball and foil wrap and check on its progress by pushing on the edge of the gel polish with an orange stick or cuticle pusher. If it resists coming off, put that finger back in its enclosure for another five

To remove gel nails, you’ll need to soak your nails in acetone and then use a wooden stick to gently push the gel polish off. Although it is possible to remove gel nails at home, it can be difficult and time-consuming. You could also consider using a professional nail salon service if you want the best results.

Method 1 Removing Gel Nails at Home

1.Pour some acetone into a plastic bowl or container large enough for your hand. Acetone is the main ingredient in most fingernail polish removers, but you can buy 100% acetone at many drugstores or beauty supply stores. You can also try substituting 100% ethyl acetate or 100% amyl acetate if you have difficulty finding acetone.[1] If you use a lower concentration of acetone (such as 85%), it will take longer for your gel nails to fall off.

2.Place your nails into the bowl of acetone so that they’re fully submerged. Depending on how many fingers and toes you want to remove gel from, you may need two bowls of acetone so that each nail has room in the bowl without touching any other nails. It’s okay if some of your skin touches the acetone as well

– Leave the foil on your nails for 10 minutes.

– Remove the foil and acetone-soaked cotton pad from your nails and use an orange stick to gently push off any remaining gel.

– Wash your hands with soap and water to remove the acetone.

To remove a gel manicure, you can use acetone; however, if you want to avoid the damaging side effects of acetone, a non-acetone nail polish remover can be used.

Gel manicures are beautiful and long-lasting. However, when you want to remove them, it takes a bit more time than removing your regular nail polish.

Removing gel nail polish requires soaking your fingertips in acetone for 10 minutes to break down the product. Acetone is drying on the nails and cuticles.

To avoid damage from acetone, try using a non-acetone nail polish remover instead. Follow these steps for removing gel nails by soaking them in warm water for about 20 minutes before applying the polish remover.

Soak a cotton ball in acetone.

Press the cotton ball onto your nail and wrap it with aluminum foil.

Let the cotton ball sit on your nail for 20 minutes to allow the acetone to break down the gel polish.

Get some acetone (nail polish remover) and put it in a cup. Take a cotton ball, dip it in the acetone, and stick it on your nail. Then take a small piece of foil and wrap it around your finger so that the cotton ball is held in place. Let this sit for about 15 minutes and then gently remove the foil with the cotton ball still stuck to your nail. The gel should begin to flake off. If not, let it sit for another 5-10 minutes.

Gel nails are a long-lasting, resilient alternative to traditional nail polish. They usually last up to two weeks before they need to be redone. Unlike regular nail polish that is painted on, gel nails are applied under a UV light which solidifies the colored gel right away.

Gel nails offer a natural and healthy look to your nails. Gel nails are now becoming more popular than acrylic nails and there are many reasons for this. One reason is that you can buff your own natural nails before you apply gel nails, whereas with acrylics you cannot do this as it spoils the surface of the acrylic nail.

Another reason why people like gel nails is because they have no smell at all when applied and are easy to apply.

There are many different kinds of gels available; there is color gel, french gels, builder gels and hard gels. Builder Gels are very flexible and can be used for both sculptured and overlay enhancements.
