If you are not familiar with a french manicure, it is when you paint your nails white at the tip and then paint the rest of your nails with a clear coat or any color you would like. Although it seems easy, it really does take some practice so don’t be discouraged if you can’t get it right the first time.
To begin, you will need a few things:
Nail Polish Remover
Clear Coat Nail Polish
White Nail Polish
(any other color nail polish)
How to apply nail polish:
1. Start with a base coat, then apply two coats of your favorite polish.
2. Once the topcoat is applied, use a dotting tool to apply your favorite glitter and top it off with another coat of topcoat.
3. Finish with a glittery accent nail.
You can do any design you want using this method and can be as creative as you like!
Nail polishes are a cosmetic product that are applied to the fingernails or toenails for nail decoration and/or protection.
Polishes can come in many different colors and textures. They may contain dyes, glitter, and various other decorative materials.
Polishes are also used to strengthen nails, restore moisture to the nail or nail bed, or as a base coat before painting.
Nail polish is composed of a film-forming polymer dissolved in an organic solvent. Nail polishes formulated today contain a wide variety of chemical compounds including plasticizers, solvents, thickeners, UV stabilizers, pigments and dyes, fragrances, fillers, and different types of resins. Some examples of ingredients include: Butyl acetate (solvent), Ethyl acetate (solvent), Nitrocellulose (resin), Adipic acid/neopentyl glycol/trimellitic anhydride copolymer (resin), Acetyl tributyl citrate (plasticizer), Isopropyl alcohol (solvent), Stearalkonium bentonite (stabilizer), Diacetone alcohol (solvent)
Nail polish is a lacquer that can be applied to the human fingernail or toenails to decorate and protect the nail plates. Nail polish consists of a mix of an organic polymer and several other components, depending on the brand. Nail polish originated in China, and dates back 3000 years. Around 600 BC, during the Zhou dynasty, the royal house preferred the colors gold and silver. However, red and black eventually replaced these metallic colors as royal favorites. During the Ming dynasty, nail polish was often made from a mixture that included beeswax, egg whites, gelatin, vegetable dyes, and gum Arabic. In Egypt, the lower classes wore pale colors to distinguish themselves from the higher classes who wore dark colors.
During the dynasty of Qin Shi Huang (around 200 BC), nail color indicated one’s social status. According to some sources,[who?] certain colors were restricted to certain classes: royals wore gold; upper class people wore red; people in lower classes wore green or black; slaves were forbidden from wearing any color on their nails. Step 2: Apply a clear base coat to all of your nails.
Step 3: Using a white nail polish, paint a thin strip along the tip of your nails. It doesn’t have to be perfect because we will clean it up in the next step.
Step 4: Using an eyeliner brush dipped in acetone, clean up the line where you painted the white polish on the tips of your nails so that it is nice and neat and even on each nail. Remove any excess white polish from the skin around your nails with nail polish remover.
Step 5: Apply another coat of clear base coat over everything on each nail to seal in the white tips and protect them from chipping. Your French manicure base is now complete!
