Nail Art Hype Goes National.
We are helping clients to look their best: a blog on the constantly changing nail trends.
Trends come and go, but one thing is constant in the world of nails: change! Polish colors go from dark to light and back again with every season. Nail shapes get longer or shorter depending on the whims of the most fashionable celebrities. The latest shape for this spring is oval nails, and I am here today to show you how we can customize any shape nail into an oval nail!
I love how the ombre effect looks on the nails when done right. It is almost a 3D effect that makes your nails look more defined, full, and healthy! As you can see in this picture, it gives off an almost watercolor effect that’s super pretty. Pick two different shades of pink polish, one lighter than the other. Apply the lighter shade to your entire nail first. After it dries completely (give it at least 10 minutes or else it will smudge), paint a diagonal line across your nail using the darker shade of polish. Then take your lighter shade of polish and apply another diagonal line next to the darker one in order to create that “gradient” effect! Finish off with a top
Since the ombre manicure trend took the beauty world by storm, it was only a matter of time before the nail art hype went national. And that day has come!
Ombre nails are not just for celebrities anymore. Nail salons are receiving countless requests for the two-toned nail design from clients around the country.
We like to provide our clients with the latest and greatest in fashion trends, so Ombre nails are definitely on our menu. According to our technicians, it’s one of their favorite techniques to do, so we hope you give it a try next time you visit us!
In the past year, nail art has become a phenomenon in both the fashion and beauty industries. The most popular way to rock nail art has been the ombre effect. As seen on the nails of celebrities such as Gwen Stefani, Rhianna and Katy Perry, this trend looks like it is here to stay.
To create this look for yourself, you will need two contrasting colors of nail polish as well as a makeup sponge. Start by painting your entire nail with the lighter color. Next, take your makeup sponge and dip it into your darker shade of polish. By dabbing the sponge on your nails, you can create a gradient effect from light to dark.

The nail industry is booming. For the past two decades, salons have been popping up across the country, offering everything from a simple buff-and-polish to acrylic nails and elaborate nail art.
“This industry is exploding,” says Marian Newman, who has been doing nails for more than 30 years and is considered one of the most influential people in the nail world. “It’s absolutely huge. It’s now become a talking point.”
The rise of manicures has been fueled by the growth of social media, which has led to an explosion of nail art designs. “There are so many people out there creating incredible work,” says Newman. “And that inspires others.”
There’s a new nail art trend that has gone viral on Pinterest and Instagram. The look? Pink ombre nails. If you haven’t noticed already, the color pink is the color of the season. We saw it at New York Fashion Week and now we’re spotting it on the streets in our favorite nail art designs.
I like to call this look “pink ombre” because of its gradient effect. This hot pink design is achieved with a pink base coat and multiple coats of glitter polish. I recommend having a few different shades of glitter on hand so that you can mix textures as well as colors.
The best part about this look is how simple it is to recreate at home! Just paint your nails with a solid pink base coat, then dab the tips of your nails in glitter polish (again, make sure you have an assortment of pinks and shades — from pale to dark — for a gradient effect). Finish with a top coat, sit back and admire your gorgeous DIY manicure!
“What’s for lunch?” I asked my husband as he slung his backpack on the kitchen table and started digging through it.
“A salad with chicken,” he said, pulling out a plastic container from Trader Joe’s, “and some of those chocolate chip cookies you made last night.” He opened the lid and looked inside. “How do you eat this stuff?”
I peered into the container. A few pieces of lettuce, some tomato, and a scattering of grilled chicken and corn nestled under a thin layer of dressing.
“It’s supposed to be like that,” I said, grabbing a fork from the drawer. “The dressing is meant to just barely touch everything.”
“I see,” my husband said, nodding. “I guess that explains why I’m always hungry after eating one of these salads.”
