I use acrylic nails at home as I have for years. They are so easy and quick to apply and look great when done.

Acrylics are a type of plastic resin powder that you mix yourself with a liquid monomer. For many years, I had acrylic nails, and I thought that after allowing my nails to become strong and healthy on their own for about 6 months, that I would be able to go back to having acrylic nails and not have the same problems that I did when I had them before. Well, it turns out that I was wrong.

What happened was that my nails started to get weak again after only a few weeks, and they were peeling again. The only thing different this time is that I did not have the color changing effect on my fingertips. However, they still got very sore at the base of the nail where the acrylic meets your natural nail. They also became very thin and weak again.

So now what do you suppose happens next? Well, I will tell you what happened. I decided to stop doing acrylic nails altogether, at least for now. Of course, there may come a time in the future when I decide to try them again and see if the problem holds true then as well. For now though, I am going to stick with using plain old regular nail polish just like I did before getting into acrylic nails.
