The Ten Commandments of Nail Art

When your nails are as long as mine, it’s hard to keep them looking neat. I’m constantly running into things and breaking them! Here are my tips for keeping your nails in tip-top shape.

Commandment

1. Thou shalt not be afraid to experiment with new colors and patterns.

2. Thou shalt not be afraid to seek help.

3. Thou shalt use a base coat before painting your nails.

4. Thou shalt not be afraid to break the rules of thumb and use contrasting colors on your nails and toes.

5. Thou shalt not be shy about showing off your beautiful nails in pictures on social media.

6. Thou shalt protect your nail art from water for the first few hours after painting them, so that they don’t smudge or get ruined.

7. Thou shalt not apply too much pressure when painting your nails, as it can lead to air bubbles in the polish, which will ruin your nail art design.

8. Thou shalt wait long enough between coats of polish so that they don’t smear or run together when dry, which will ruin your nail art design.

9. Thou shalt not pick at chipped or peeling nail polish, as it can damage the underlying nail bed and lead to infections or other problems later on down the road (like when you try to remove that same polish).

10.Thou shalt use topcoat to protect against chips and cracks in your manicure!

9.Thou shalt not apply the design with too much pressure;

10.Thou shalt not apply the design with too little pressure.
