The main reason I started this blog was because, up until recently, I was a nail biter. I think it all started in elementary school when my mom first let me get acrylic nails. After that I couldn’t stop biting them. I hated the way they looked and the fact that they were so fragile. So now I just do polish on my own nails.

3. Try to avoid cleaning products that contain bleach or ammonia because they can remove layers of your nail and change the color of your polish if it comes in contact with them for too long.

4. Moisturize with cuticle oil every time you put on lotion or wash your hands, but be sure not to touch the top of your nails or it might lift the polish off when it comes time to apply new polish.

5. Apply a base coat before painting on any color polish so that there is no chance of staining from darker colors like reds or blues!

The beauty world has changed a lot since I first started blogging in 2010. While the beauty blogosphere wait for an influx of new readers, we are all wondering where are all these new readers going? To Facebook and Instagram.

I don’t know how many of you noticed but polish brands have been ditching their other social media channels in favor of Facebook and Instagram. It’s awesome that Facebook is taking the place of mailing lists for brands. It means we get updates faster and less often feel left out if we didn’t see the email. It’s great that Instagram is allowing us to be more instant with our updates from events. We can put up photos as they are taken instead of hours later when we upload to our computers.

We have a new kind of problem, though…how do we find the nail polish brands on these channels? How do you find them on Instagram? I’m a bit lost myself so I’ve decided to make this post to help all of us!

I ordered these in a set of 8 (I have really, really long nails) and they are so beautiful. However, the shape is not conducive to my nail shape. They are a bit too wide and I thought I would be able to cut them down with scissors or nail clippers, but they’re very difficult to cut. So I’m going to have to file them. Of course, this is no fault of the product; it’s just the nature of press on nails. They’re thick and sturdy but pretty flimsy at the same time.
