As a nail polish addict, I’ve taken the liberty of creating 10 tips to help you transform your at home manicure.

1. Invest In A Quality Base And Top Coat

The base coat is the foundation and will help your manicure last longer.

2. Apply A Thin First Coat

When applying the first coat of polish, it’s tempting to go thick, but thin is actually better! Applying a thin first coat allows the polish to dry faster, avoiding any smudges that can happen with a thick coat.

3. Make Sure You Allow Time To Dry

It may seem like an obvious tip, but many people rush through their manicures leaving little time for drying between coats. This often leads to chipping and smudging and ultimately a short lived manicure!

4. Avoid Getting Polish On Your Cuticles

This is another obvious tip that many people get wrong! Remember to only apply the polish on your nail bed (the area where your nail and skin meet). Wipe off any excess polish on the brush before applying to ensure you don’t get it on your cuticles and surrounding skin. If you do end up with polish on your cuticles or skin, wait until its dry and use an orange stick or cuticle rem

Nail polish is designed to be durable, but there is such a thing as having nails that are too strong. For example, if your nails are tough and hard, the nail polish will not be able to adhere properly.

If you want a manicure, you will have to soften your nails with polish remover and a cuticle stick. This step is important because you want the nail polish to stick on your nails. Also, it is important that you do not scratch or damage your nails in any way because this can cause a manicure to get ruined.

The next tip for transforming your at home manicure is to choose colors that complement your skin tone. You do not want to choose colors that make you look pale or washed out. For example, if you have light colored skin then choosing light colored nail polishes would be a good idea.

The final tip for transforming your at home manicure is to make sure that you take care of your hands after the manicure has been done. One of the most common mistakes people make when they are doing their manicure is leaving the hands in water for too long.

Your nails are fragile and need proper care, especially when you have a manicure. The following tips will help you take care of your nails and keep them looking fresh.

1. Use acetone remover to remove the polish instead of non-acetone remover. Acetone remover may dry out your nails but it is better at removing the polish than non-acetone remover which could leave traces of old nail polish on your nails. If you do use non-acetone remover, use cotton pads to remove the polish instead of using a piece of cotton ball because the latter would leave fibers on the nails.

2. Stop biting your nails! This is one of the most common habits that causes damage to your nails. Biting your nails can cause breakage and make them weak and brittle. Nail biting can also transfer bacteria from your mouth to your hands which makes infection more likely to happen.

3. Keep your hands moisturized by applying hand lotion, cream or oil after hand washing or whenever necessary. Moisturized hands will keep your cuticles healthy and prevent cracking and peeling of the skin around the nail beds which causes hangnails (hangnails occur when dead skin peels from around the edges). Be sure

1. Start with clean nails

The best way to ensure a long-lasting manicure is a base coat and top coat. Look for top coats that are specifically formulated to extend the life of your manicure.

2. Be patient when applying polish

Applying too thick of a layer of nail polish can cause bubbles and smudging and it will take longer to dry. Always remember less is more when painting your nails. Three thin coats are better than one thick coat because it gives you more control over how it looks and dries faster!

3. Apply topcoat every other day

We know you’re busy, but taking the extra time to add a fresh coat of color on your nails every other day will keep them from chipping, cracking, or peeling. If you have trouble remembering, try to associate it with another daily task like brushing your teeth or eating breakfast.

4. Avoid water for at least an hour after painting your nails

Getting your freshly painted nails wet too soon can cause bubbles and smudges in the polish because the water can get trapped in between layers as they dry. Try to avoid water for at least an hour, this includes washing dishes, showering, doing laundry or swimming in chlorinated pools! Chlorine can

1. File the nail in one direction using a fine grit file.

2. Gently push back cuticles with your nail brush or a tool made for cuticle care.

3. Apply a thin layer of gel base coat and cure for 30 seconds under an LED light or two minutes under a UV light.

4. Apply a thin layer of gel polish and cure for 30 seconds under an LED light or two minutes under a UV light. Repeat once more to ensure proper coverage, then seal with another coat of base coat and cure again.

5. Apply a small amount of cuticle oil around the base of each nail. This will help strengthen the nails between manicures, as well as prevent gel polish from sticking too closely to the skin during removal process!

6. Remove any tacky residue with alcohol or nail cleanser (this is not necessary if you have used gelous as your base coat). This step is key especially if you are doing multiple colors; it will keep excess pigment form getting on top of the lighter color when you are applying it to the next nail.

7. Admire your amazing DIY skills!

1. You can’t rush it! Gel polish needs time to cure and dry.

2. Start with a clean manicure.

3. Apply thin coats of polish.

4. File your nails before applying the top coat.

1. Do not cut cuticles

2. Only apply base coat to the tips of your nails

3. Clean up around the sides and under your nails with a small brush dipped in remover

4. If you get nail polish on your skin, dip a small brush in remover and paint over it again

5. Use a quick dry top coat

6. Do not use too much pressure to apply the gel polish and only go over each nail once or twice at most

7. Apply thin coats of gel polish and be sure to seal the sides of each nail

8. Use a fan or blow dryer on cool setting to help polish set faster between coats if needed

9. Do not soak nails in water for at least 12 hours after applying gel polish (it will come off!)

10. Only apply 1-2 drops of remover, if you need to remove any excess polish from around your nails
